This morning I pray for you boys. I pray that you encounter God in an individualized experience that I cannot give to you, that the church cannot formulate, and that religion cannot imitate.
I want you each to have an encounter with God that leaves you changed, and that causes you to realize how much He loves you. I want you each to meet Jesus on your own, and to fall in love with Him. I want you to commit your lives to Him, and to follow Him all the days of your lives. I want you to be His disciples. I pray you have a passion for His Word, His Church, and His presence.
Boys, my single greatest desire is for you to know Jesus. I can point you to Him, but I cannot force your relationship together. I can reflect Him accurately, so that your foundational thoughts about Him are positive.
I pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to invade your young hearts. I don’t think you need to go on some “spiritual journey”, and I don’t think you need to wait until you’re a young adult to solidify a commitment to Him. You can meet Him now, and today, at 6 and 8 years old you can choose to serve Him all the days of your life.
Jesus, please make my children’s hearts be good soil. When they hear your Word, may it take root in their souls. May your Holy Spirit water the seeds that are planted, and my your Holy Spirit protect the seed from the enemy. They have tasted of you, and may they see that you are good. They have each accepted you in to their lives, and I pray that you would seal that commitment for eternity. May you accomplish Your will in their lives. Amen and Amen.
